Welcome to Cup2026, developed by NakitTech. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Cup2026, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Data Collection

Information We Collect

Cup2026 collects minimal data necessary to provide its features:

  • Anonymous User ID: We generate an anonymous identifier using Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
  • Display Name (optional): If you choose to appear on leaderboards (Match Predictor, Fantasy Squad, Daily Quiz), you may enter a display name. This is entirely optional.
  • Predictions & Votes: Your match predictions, Winning 11 votes, and Fantasy Squad selections are stored in Firebase Firestore to calculate points and display leaderboards.
  • Quiz Progress: Your daily quiz answers, streak, and accuracy are stored locally on your device (AsyncStorage) and optionally synced to Firebase for leaderboard ranking.
  • Bingo Cards: Your bingo card and marked squares are stored locally on your device only.
Data Use

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Display your points and rank on leaderboards
  • Save your predictions and squad selections across sessions
  • Calculate your fantasy and prediction points after matches
  • Maintain your daily quiz streak

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond providing the app's features.

Third Party

Third-Party Services

Cup2026 uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google): Anonymous authentication, Firestore database for leaderboards and predictions. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • API-Football: Live match data, standings, and player statistics. No personal data is shared.
  • The Guardian API / GNews / RSS Feeds: News headlines. No personal data is shared.
  • Anthropic Claude API: AI Commentator feature — your typed match description is sent to generate commentary. No personal data is included. Anthropic Privacy Policy
Storage

Data Storage & Security

  • All data transmitted to Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Local data is stored in your device's AsyncStorage and remains on your device.
  • Firebase data is stored on Google's secure servers in accordance with their security standards.
  • We do not store passwords — the app uses anonymous authentication only.
Your Rights

Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of all your data stored in Firebase
  • Clear local app data at any time by uninstalling the app
  • Use the app without entering any display name

Children

Children's Privacy

Cup2026 is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
